Mustard Systems is on the lookout for bright graduates to join our Research/Business Development team. The team works on new projects where we like to challenge current solutions with novel and unique thinking. We are not tied to any technology or approach; we encourage exploration and discovery as we strive to be at the forefront of tomorrows buzzwords. The team is currently 8 people (in a company of 50), including some of the top talent in Maths, Statistics, Software and Chess. We’d like to add to the team with similar talent – initially you will work closely with the developers and data analysts as well as the senior management team to oversee the new trading strategies in action. This will include setting up daily parameters, monitoring performance, as well as giving critical feedback to help with optimisation. We see this role as an ideal starting point for those that are ambitious enough to get to the top, and an obvious next step will see you take ownership of projects where you will design, construct, and optimise new opportunities.
Mustard Systems is a statistical consultancy company specialising in the modelling of sporting events. Applications of our research is widespread across multiple sectors including betting, insurance, finance, media as well as giving advice to coaches and owners of sporting teams.
Our aim is to predict sport as accurately as possible. We have found this is best achieved by combining individuals with complimentary talents that can work together to create advanced data driven models. The output we deliver provides products for trading into various established markets, as well as servicing third-parties including media companies, renowned bookmakers and insurance companies.
The Ideal Candidate:
Will be mathematically strong, having gained a recent degree in a quantitative subject from a top university.
Enjoys puzzle solving and/or games of strategy and probability.
Will have experimented with some software programming, either at home or in academia.
Need not know anything about sport but will have a fascination for how data can be used to describe moments where others use “gut feel” and soundbite.
Working for an ambitious, fast-moving company that thinks differently from the industry standard.
Private Pension, Private Health Care, Life Insurance, Subsidised Gym Membership
We currently run a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 from home. There may be some weekend work to fit the product life cycle and/or sporting calendar
